Snickerdoodles

1 cup (1/2 pound butter softened)
1 1/3 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
3 cup flour
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. cream of tartar
tsp. salt
2 tsp. ground cinnamon
3 tbsp. sugar

Beat butter and 1 1/3 cup sugar until creamy. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Stir together flour, baking soda, cream of tartar and salt. Gradually add to cookie mixture, blending thoroughly. In a small bowl, combine cinnamon and 3 tablespoons of sugar. Roll dough into 1 balls then roll in cinnamon and sugar to coat. Place at least 2 apart on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake in a 375 oven for 10-12 minutes or until lightly browned. Let cool on baking sheet for at least 1 minute, then transfer to racks to cool completely. Store airtight.
