Nutmeg Rum Logs

Cookies

3 cup flour
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 cup butter
3/4 cup sugar
1 egg
2tsp.vanilla
2 tsp. rum flavor

Frosting

3 tbsp. butter
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. rum flavoring
2 1/2 cup powdered sugar
2 - 3 tbsp evaporated milk

Cookies

Sift: flour and nutmeg set aside
Cream: butter and sugar
Add to creamed mixture egg, vanilla and rum flavor
Gradually add flour and nutmeg mixture
Take small amounts of dough at a time; roll out to about 3/4
Cut into logs about 1/2x 2 1/2. 
Bake on parchment paper at 350 for 12-15 minutes.

Frosting

Mix butter, vanilla and rum then add 1/2 cup sifted powdered sugar. Then add 2 more cups of powdered sugar alternately with 2 - 3 tbsp evaporated milk until smooth consistency. Makes 5 1/2 dozen.
