PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE  - Jerry Dunagan

Hello everybody.  The summer schedule is behind us, and we are trying to plan a full, “funfilled” schedule to the  end of the year.

WE NEED YOUR HELP to work the kitchen, greet members, and especially visitors.  We need class members and Angels  to support the classes and workshops.  PLEASE. 

We are planning to do demos and parades, so watch and listen for announcements.  Our special dances are very enjoyable for us, and the ones that help those in need give me a feeling that is hard to describe.  How about you?

We have the Abused Spouses (and Children) Benefit Dance in November, Lend-A-Hand and Christmas for Kids in December; also the Christmas Dinner/Dance for Starlight Promenaders.

Let’s square up and have some fun!!

SUNDAE NIGHT ON WEDNESDAY DANCE

Now that we are back on a weekly schedule, we begin with our Sundae Night on Wednesday Dance on September 19^t.h.  We will have a plentiful supply of ice cream so please bring your favorite toppings to add to your dish of ice cream.  We are always surprised by some very unusual concoctions!!  Whit and Daphne are sure to play some  “sweet” music during the evening.  Don’t miss it ----

BANNER RAIDS  - Jo Santoro

The Pirates will raid us on September 5^th; we raid the Orlando Singles on the 7th; and on October 2nd we will raid the Granada Squares.  That’s all so far.

SQUARE DANCE LESSONS

A reminder!! There are two Open House evenings scheduled for Thursdays, September 6^th and 13^th at the Deltona Civic Center, Lakeshore Drive in Deltona.  Roland Morin is the instructor, and the first “lesson” will be on September 20^th. PLEASE, PLEASE support this effort.  We will need “angels” to help out again this year – as always and we definitely NEED STUDENTS -- HELP!

UPCOMING DANCES

October 31st, of course, is our annual Halloween Dance chaired by Randy and Carol Poole; November 14^th is the Abused Spouses Benefit, chaired by Board Members; and our usual Christmas/Dinner Dance is scheduled for December 12^th, chaired this year by Jo Santoro.  Ask if you can help.

ABUSED SPOUSES BENEFIT

November 14^th is the Abused Spouses Benefit Dance and a short list of things which can be donated is on the back table.  For further information, see any Board Member:  the Dunagans, Lysobeys, Bryans, O’Connors, Jo Santoro, Barrs and Jackie Ratliff.

Please welcome back our snowbirds, especially the new dancers.  Give them all the assistance and encouragement they need.  Remember, we all began in the same place and certainly appreciated the guidance we received!!
