Phyllis has been involved in dancing most of her adult life while Conrad was introduced to dancing in the first grade at military school. Conrad was also very involved in music. He played in his High School Dance Band and The Maryland All State Orchestra.
Phyllis started Square Dancing in 1977 and then Round Dancing in 1982. Conrad started Square Dancing in 1987 and Rounds in 1989. Both dance C-1 squares and dance Rounds thru Phase V. Phyllis attended teacher training in 1984 at Estes Park, Colorado.
Conrad started teaching in 1991 when another teacher retired. They met in Florida in 1997 and started teaching together. They attended the East Coast Round Dance College for Phase IV thru VI under the tutelage of the Collipis and Blackfords. They have been very active in the Square & Round Dance Movement.
Phyllis was President of the Florida Round Dance Council in 1994. Conrad was President in 2002 & 2003. Both have held all offices in the Southeast Callers and Cuers Assoc. and Swinging Singles Square Dance Club in the Ft. Lauderdale area and Phyllis is presently Treasure of Florida Round Dance Council.
Phyllis and Conrad have classes for Phase II and III and a Carousel Club #220 for Phase IV & V. Conrad also cues for The Sun Cat Square Dance Club for Sonny McCartney and the Cast Off Square Dance Club in Boynton Beach
Conrad cued at the 49th National Convention and they both were the Chairman of Rounds for the 48th & 52nd Florida State Convention. They have also taught at numerous Florida State Convention as well as the Florida Round Dance Council Weekends.
They are Members of ROUNDALAB, Florida Round Dance Council and URDC and actively do Demonstration with clubs and for Senior Care Homes.
