Florida Federation of Square Dancers
President's Message

The summer doldrums are here!!  All our snowbird friends are gone for the summer.  And that’s why it’s so important to support our clubs and keep them active until the fall when we can look forward to welcoming back our northern friends.
Many of us will also be taking trips.  Some are planning to attend the 67th National Square Dance Convention in Kansas City, Missouri on June 27, 28, 29 and 30.  We know you will have a great time, and we wish you a very safe trip!
The Federation working weekend was held in May.  Rearranging this date was very beneficial so that the three meetings are more evenly spaced throughout the year.
The next Federation meeting will be in November in Bartow.  This is the annual meeting and includes the election of new officers.   This meeting is held in conjunction with the West Coast Association’s Fall Fun Fest on November 9 & 10.   The callers for this dance are Ted Lizotte and Ron Libby.  Cuers are Susan Snider and Mark Fetzer.  This is a Mainstream/Plus and Advance dance and is always a very FUN FESTival!!
It is not too early to purchase your ribbons for the 2019 State Convention next February 22 & 23, 2019 in Daytona.  It’s also not too early to make your hotel reservations.  Last February’s convention was a tremendous success and we all look forward to “Green Flag Dancing in Daytona!!!”  Registration forms are available through your Association Presidents and Ways & Means Chairmen.
Until next time, yellow rocks to all from
Ray & Elsa Huddleston,
Federation Presidents
