"FOLLOW THE BIRD TO THE 53rd"

Northwest Florida Square & Round Dance Association

32nd Annual Roundup

Tim and Terri Wilaby, General Chairman, and many of their committee members previewed the Fashion Show at the 32nd Annual Roundup.  If you weren't there you missed a great show.  Some of the best of our feathered friends were there, including Tweety Bird and his furry friend Sylvester.  There was also a penguin friend from the Artic that joined the party.

Before the dance on Saturday evening Cheryl Miller, Assistant Chairman and Ways & Means Chairman, started a Fund Raising campaign.

Dancers were asked to donate money in the name of their friends.  The person who received the most donations would be tarred and feathered.  There was a big conspiracy afoot to tar and feather Bruce Morgan from the Central Association but he was crafty and mounted a secret plan to back door his wife, Colleen.  As it turned out, she was the one with the most donations.  It couldn't have happened to a more deserving person.

The Convention is coming up fast.  If you haven’t registered, NOW is the time to do it!  You can register for just $27.00 per person. The cost if you purchase your ribbons at the Convention Box Office will be $30.00 per person.  Now, where can you get two days and three nights of great dancing to that many callers and cuers and, at the same time, renew old friendships and make new friends with other dancers in the State of Florida?  You don’t have an answer – of course not.  It’s a fun weekend with lots of great dancing for a little money.  You know the drill.  Get your registration in, along with your check, now!  Where do you get a registration form, you ask?  From any of the individuals selling ribbons in your area (sufficient ribbons and registration forms have been distributed to each association and if you can’t find anyone with a registration form or a ribbon, send us an e-mail (newsome.charles@comcast.net) or call us at 904-683-3512, and we’ll have you an answer where to get one…or have a registration form mailed to you.  You can also download your copy from this convention web site at:
http://www.floridasquaredance.com/northwest/convention/registration.html

There is some strange, secret goings on in the Northwest, but we promise to keep you informed about everything we learn about (we're like the wise old OWL… everything about the 53rd is feathered, you know… and we have ways of finding out these things).  So, watch for news about the all-new Sew & Save; the Fabulous Fashion Show put on by some special “feathered friends”; and our great dance program!

Check out our website (www.floridasquaredance.com/convention/index.html) for all the 53rd items you can purchase.  We also hope all the Associations are doing a great job with the Fund Raising items we gave you in the pink basket.  The raffle items are really great.  Remember, it’s a STATE Convention and we need your help.

After all that, isn’t your interest peaked enough that you are going to RUSH RIGHT OUT AND GET REGISTERED… not tomorrow, TODAY!

FOLLOW THE BIRD TO THE 53rd FLORIDA STATE SQUARE & ROUND DANCE CONVENTION!
