Sanlan Ranch, Lakeland, FL
May 21 - 23, 2010
Beautiful weather greeted our campers when they arrived for our 3rd weekend
of May outing at Sanlan Ranch in Lakeland, FL. A total of 10 rigs camped
together, a few arriving early on Thursday. Those early arrivals were able
to see the International Space Station as it flew over the campground just
before 8:30 Thursday evening. What a bright, awesome sight!
The beautiful weather prevailed throughout the weekend, allowing all of us
to enjoy the outdoors as we chose, whether walking, eating outside, or just
lazing under the trees in a big circle with our lawn chairs.
Friday meant time to head to Pizza Hut for dinner. Saturday afternoon we all
took an ice cream break after several of the guys returned from golfing.
Our Friday and Saturday night dancing was as always very enjoyable with two
squares on the floor most of the time. Our caller, Charlie Pergrossi and our
cuers, Pete and Jan Shankle kept us moving right along!
Our hosts/hostesses for the weekend were Tom/Eivor Brown and Eddie/Joyce
Julian...they cooked up some tasty pancakes on Saturday morning!
Several of our members are snowbirds and they have returned to their
northern abodes for now. Until September, the remainder of us that can will
be camping together somewhere just for socializing.
Of course, we will have our International Camporee in July in Orlando. You
do not need to be a camper to attend.
